He utilizes a comprehensive approach evaluating and helping golfers from beginner to advanced skill levels, identify and correct deficiencies in strength, stability, flexibility and balance in the golf swing in order to eliminate injury and improve performance.

Dr. Spence has extensive training and clinical experience in the diagnosis, treatment and management of the musculoskeletal disorders. He utilizes the Selective Functional Movement Asessment (SFMA), a whole body, movement-based diagnostic system, which finds the cause of symptoms by revealing imbalances and asymmetries in movements of the body. The SFMA is like a "trouble detection system" that identifies weak links and warning signs in movement patterns which may be limiting athletic performance or causing injuries. Through the assessment these dysfunctional movements are broken down to their root cause and diagnosed as either a mobility problem or stability/motor control problem, which is then corrected with targeted treatment interventions.

Dr. Spence is also certified in Functional Range Release technique, or FR® Release technique. Functional Range Release is an advanced, and comprehensive system of musculoskeletal assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation utilized by leading manual medical practitioners and therapists around the world. FR® Release was created out of the most current scientific literature. It therefore represents a cohesive system of manual care using the best evidence, and most effective strategies currently available to assess, diagnose, treat, and rehabilitate musculoskeletal disorders, pain, and movement dysfunction. FR® Release treatments help to simultaneously expand and instantly strengthen a patient’s functional range of motion.

Dr. Spence provides high-quality, individualized treatment plans which are designed to yield the fastest results possible by reducing painful symptoms, advancing recovery, and providing patients with knowledge and tools needed to decrease the liklihood of recurrence.

Dr Spence is an active member of the Canadian Chiropractic Association (CCA), Ontario Chiropractic Association (OCA), College of Chiropractors of Ontario (CCO) and the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA).
