Dr. Christian Cooke, Doctor of Chiropractic, was selected to be part of the prestigious Medical Team for the 2015 Pan Am / Parapan Am Games in Toronto. Working hand-in-hand with a broad spectrum of Health Care Specialists, Dr. Cooke was able to give back to his community by volunteering his time and experience to the elite athletes and teams competing at the largest ever multi-sport International competition in Canadian history.  

Dr. Cooke graduated from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College receiving Clinical Honours and is a member of the College of Chiropractors of Ontario, the Ontario Chiropractic Association and the Canadian Chiropractic Association.

Dr. Cooke is also a Certified Contemporary Medical Acupuncture provider through McMaster University and holds a Specialized Honours Degree in Kinesiology (Science of Human Movement) from York University, currently serving as a Health Science consultant to local personal training practices and exercise science practitioners. 

Dr. Cooke is also a Certified Shift Concussion Management Provider offering both pre-injury concussion baseline testing and post-injury concussion management and rehabiliation.  Concussion rehabiliation is also implemented which may include both vision (eyes) and vestibular (balance) training. Dr. Cooke is able to provide high quality and highly targeted care by being able to properly pinpoint the areas involved in the concussion and develop the correct treatment plan to help with proper recovery. 

Dr. Cooke has also completed training to become a Fascial Movement Taping (FMT) Provider, specializing in Kinesiology tape (RockTape) application.  Fascial Movement Taping (FMT) is based on the groundbreaking concept of muscles and fascia acting as a chain, and not simply independently.  Thus, the goal is to functionally tape movement, not just muscles. Kinesiology taping is different than traditional sports taping in that the actual tape stretches and promotes full range of motion instead of limiting it.  By doing so, it can help to prevent injury, but also speed recovery. When applied correctly, RockTape’s unique elasticity allows the tissues to decompress, which helps with reducing acute pain as well as chronic swelling or edema. It can also be applied help to improve posture, nerve mobility, overall performance and day-to-day functional activities.

Dr. Cooke has received advanced training and certification through the Titleist Performance Institute as both a certified Golf Fitness Instructor and a Level II Golf Medical Professional.  This training allows him to work with golfers of all skill levels to analyze and improve their body and swing mechanics and work with them to prevent, or recover from injury.

Dr. Cooke has extensive diagnostic and clinical rehabilitation experience, collaborating and integrating with a diverse network of local health professionals and specialists.  

In his practice, Dr. Cooke works with patients of all ages (from infants to seniors), and athletes of all skill levels (amateur to elite level), providing exceptional, genuine and well rounded patient care. Dr. Cooke specializes in individualized, leading edge chiropractic and manual soft tissue therapies, all in an effort to help his patients prevent injury, eliminate or control pain, optimize health and enjoy their daily activities.
